VAMC Martinsburg, WV depends on the love and devotion of our VSOs and volunteers whose sole purpose is to serve America's veterans.
Volunteering
Volunteers are making a difference in VA Health Care. Our volunteers provide many important services throughout the Medical Center to help make our patients' stay more comfortable and help us accomplish our mission of service.

To volunteer, call or visit the VAMC Martinsburg Voluntary Service Office. We will be happy to discuss how you can help us in our mission to care for America's finest.
Giving
Cash donations are used for the comfort and welfare of our veteran patients, including —
- Comfort items
- Recreational activities
- Haircuts and shaves for extended care/indigent patients
- Newspaper subscriptions
Checks should be made payable to VAMC and earmarked for the desired purpose. See current ongoing Project List for a listing of needs.
Non-cash contributions are also accepted. Some of the acceptable items include—
- Phone cards for domestic use (no international cards needed)
- Postage stamps for patients' letters, cards, etc.
- Personal comfort items that are new and unopened, i.e. toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving cream, combs, deodorant, shampoo, denture cleaner, chap stick (we cannot accept the small items you receive from hotels/motels).
- Crossword or Word Find or Sudoku puzzle books
- Paperback books that are clean and in good condition.
- Magazines no more than three (3) months old and in good condition.
