MOVE! After

Location: Fitness Center bldg 217
 
Veterans Health Education.  MOVE! After is a program for Veterans who have completed the MOVE! program and are interested in continuing or maintaining their weight loss through healthy food choices and exercise.  Classes meet on the second Thursday of every month.  MOVE! Pain School
 
Time: 9:00 AM- 10:00 AM (EST)
Location: Bldg 500 2B150 Library
 
Veterans Health Education. Pain School helps Veterans receive new knowledge and skills to better manage pain.  It meets every Thursday.  (There is no class if there is a 5th Thursday in the month).  The 4 classes cover the following topics :
#1 Stress reduction and health behavior changes
#2 How exercise and movement can help manage pain
#3 How medicines may help manage your pain
      How the foods you eat affect you and your pain
#4 How understanding your pain can help you manage it better

You can start Pain School at any time.  You may drop in, or ask your Primary Care Team to refer you to Pain School.  Pain School is also offered via video-conferencing at your local CBOC. For more information contact Joyce Compton, RN at 304-263-0811 extension 6111.
 
V.I.S.T. (Visually Impaired Support Team)
 
Time: 10:30 AM- 11:30 AM (EST)
Location: Bldg 500, 2B-150 Library
 
Veterans Health Education. The VIST Support Group gives Veterans with visual challenges support as well as resources for managing challenges. This support group meets monthly. Preventing Diabetes
 
Time: 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM (EST)
Location: Building 500, room 2B-150 Library
 
Veterans Health Education.  Preventing Diabetes Class.  Learn what you can do to try and prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. Exercise, weight loss and diet are some of the topics covered. Meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 1:00pm.  Class meets in the building 500, Library (2B-150) or at your local CBOC (Cumberland, Fort Detrick, Franklin, Hagerstown, Harrisonburg, Petersburg, or Stephens City).  For more information, please contact  at 301-263-0811 ext. 2334.
