MOVE!

Veterans Health Education.  MOVE! is a program for Veterans interested in weight loss through healthy food choices and exercise.  Classes meet weekly for up to sixteen weeks.  You may attend the Tuesday morning or Wednesday afternoon class in Martinsburg. Total Joint Replacement Class

Diabetes Class

Veterans Health Education. Diabetes Education is a series of eight, one-hour classes covering different topics.  Classes meet every Wednesday. Veterans may begin any time.  You may attend at Martinsburg or by V-tel from your local CBOC. Topics include:

#1 What is diabetes? What do I need to do?
#2 What can I eat?
#3 My diabetes medicines
#4 Let's get moving!
#5 Preventing short and long-term complications. Checking my blood sugar.
#6 Practicing Mindfulness/Sress/Relaxation
#7 Graduation celebration
#8 Healthy Teaching Kitchen (Martinsburg location only)eeping up the good work!

Pain School

Veterans Health Education. Pain School helps Veterans receive new knowledge and skills to better manage pain.  It meets every Thursday.  (There is no class if there is a 5th Thursday in the month).  The 4 classes cover the following topics :
#1 Stress reduction and health behavior changes
#2 How exercise and movement can help manage pain
#3 How medicines may help manage your pain
      How the foods you eat affect you and your pain
#4 How understanding your pain can help you manage it better
