Veterans Health Education. Pain School helps Veterans receive new knowledge and skills to better manage pain.  It meets every Thursday.  (There is no class if there is a 5th Thursday in the month).  The 4 classes cover the following topics :
#1 Stress reduction and health behavior changes
#2 How exercise and movement can help manage pain
#3 How medicines may help manage your pain
      How the foods you eat affect you and your pain
#4 How understanding your pain can help you manage it better

You can start Pain School at any time.  You may drop in, or ask your Primary Care Team to refer you to Pain School.  Pain School is also offered via video-conferencing at your local CBOC. For more information contact Joyce Compton, RN at 304-263-0811 extension 6111.
