MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Department of Veterans Affairs announced today that Ann R. Brown, was selected for the position as Medical Center Director of the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, Ill.

The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center is a 200-bed inpatient tertiary care facility classified as a Clinical Referral Level IB Facility, with services in acute medicine, surgery, psychiatry, neurology, and rehabilitation medicine.  It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research. The facility is a part of VA Great Lakes Healthcare System (Network 12), which includes facilities in Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Brown has served as the Martinsburg VA Medical Center Director since January 2008.  Her expected departure date is September 27.  An Acting Medical Center Director will be named prior to her departure.
