Martinsburg VAMC to honor all Veterans

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – In recognition of Veterans Day, the Martinsburg VA Medical Center (VAMC) will hold a day full of activities for Veterans, family, staff, friends and the community on Saturday, November 8, 2014.

The Martinsburg VAMC was designated by the Department of Veterans Affairs as a regional site for Veterans Day celebrations. The event will include a Road to Freedom 5K/1K run, walk or roll beginning at 8:30 a.m. with
pre-registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. A formal ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. with local high school music performers and entertainment from the City of Winchester Pipes and Drums.

Local car clubs will be showcasing their vehicles in front of the medical center starting at 10 a.m. The Eastern Panhandle Youth Football League will have their annual Patriots4Patriots football scrimmage that will begin at 3 p.m. The football scrimmage is played to show appreciation from local athletes to our Veterans receiving care at the medical center.
