MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - On November 5, the Martinsburg Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center and Shepherd University will co-sponsor the 7th Annual Nursing Research Conference from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Shepherd’s nursing education building, Erma Ora Byrd Hall. This year’s theme is "Building Foundations through Evidence Based Practice". Medical center staff and local area nurses and nursing students are encouraged to attend this informative and engaging event.

The conference offers two plenary sessions and several smaller breakout sessions, allowing participants to build a personalized learning experience to enhance their nursing practice. Participants will also collaborate to create informational posters about evidence based practice, as well as have the opportunity for individual conversation with keynote speakers.

The conference allows students to display their research, engage with other practitioners in the field, network with guest speakers and other colleagues. The day will be one of information sharing about evidenced based practice and the opportunity for further research. The conference serves as a systematic approach to improve patient care by using validated research in practice improves patient safety and outcomes. The conference is a wonderful opportunity for students and nurses to learn from one another and to bring evidenced based ideas into practice.

Every year the conference brings together over a hundred nursing professionals who exchange ideas and grow the world of healthcare.
