Medical Center Celebrates 65th Anniversary and Welcome Home

Martinsburg, W.Va. – On Saturday, October 22, the Martinsburg Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center will celebrate 65 years of service to Veterans and welcome home troops from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the medical center, 510 Butler Avenue, Martinsburg, W.Va. and is open to all Veterans, their families and the public.
There will be food, entertainment, children’s activities and information on medical center programs and community resources for Veterans. Entertainment highlights include guest speaker former Super Bowl Champion Washington Redskin Ron Saul and performances by ReCreation, a non-profit organization who has been providing live entertainment to America's Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and State Veterans Homes since 1983.
The event also features the third annual Welcome Home American Heroes celebration that spotlights the MVAMC’s OEF/OIF/OND Post-Deployment Integrated Care Clinic. The OEF/OIF/OND program provides a single point of access for health care services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs for Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.
