Martinsburg, W.Va. – on Nov. 10, the Martinsburg Veterans Medical Center (MVAMC) received the Hospital of the Year Award from the Greater Alleghenies Region of American Red Cross Blood Services.

Director Ann Brown accepted the award from Senior Field Representative Julie Shiben during the American Red Cross Blood Drive held at the medical center.

Every year, the Red Cross selects one hospital within the region that has shown outstanding support of the blood donation program.

“The MVAMC has consistently collected 80 pints of blood and is one of the largest blood collectors in the region,” said Shiben. “Every blood drive is well attended, with supportive staff and loyal donors.”
