Medical Center Remembers POWs and MIAs

September 16, 2011

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – Last week, the Martinsburg Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center held its annual Prisoner of War (POW) / Missing in Action (MIA) Recognition Ceremony.  POWs, Veterans, local Veteran Service Organizations, family members of POWs and MIAs, medical center staff and military service members attended the event, which recognizes the service of men and women held as Prisoners of War and renews our Nation’s commitment to account for U.S. personnel still missing from past wars and conflicts.  The ceremony included a wreath laying for POWs and MIAs from WWII, Korea and Vietnam, as well as an honor table with an empty seat reserved for each military branch.
